Senator Stella Oduah
Former Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah, a lawmaker representing Anambra North Senatorial District at the National Assembly Abuja, has been elected as the President of ECOWAS female parliamentarians.
The influential PDP politician who pledged to use her office to advocate for laws that will empower women, especially those in rural areas also increase participation in politics, made the announcement via her official Twitter handle, @StellaOduah.

Upon her return to Nigeria in 1983, she joined the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. In 1992, she left the NNPC to establish the Sea Petroleum & Gas Company Limited (SPG), an independent marketer of petroleum products in Nigeria.
In 2013 she was one of the delegates chosen by the President to attend the Papal inauguration of Pope Francis together with David Mark, President of the Senate and Viola Onwuliri, Foreign Minister.
In 2015 she was one of the senators elected to the 8th assembly. Only six of these were women out of the 109 lawmakers in the Upper chamber of the National Assembly. The others were Rose Okoji Oko, Uche Ekwunife, Fatimat Raji Rasaki, Oluremi Tinubu and Binta Garba
